North Charleston, SC –August, 29, 2024 – The African American Authors Literary Awareness Campaign (AAALAC) is thrilled to announce the Chasing Your Dream Book Tour and Expo, landing in North Charleston, South Carolina, on October 19th, 2023. This spectacular community event will take place from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Miner Crosby Community Center, 3901 Paramount Drive  North Charleston SC 29405  and promises to be an enriching experience for the entire family.

This not-to-be-missed event is your opportunity to come out and meet local community leaders, small business owners, and a host of local authors and creatives. Attendees will have the unique chance to engage with influential figures in their community, discover local businesses, and celebrate the vibrant literary and artistic talent in the area.

The AAALAC’s mission is to provide the ultimate E3 Experience: to Educate, Empower, and Encourage. We believe that everyone attending this event should leave feeling more knowledgeable, more inspired, and more motivated to chase their dreams.  Celebrating Local Talent: Spotlight on Christopher Lucius Wynn

Welcome to our blog as we shine a spotlight on the multi-talented artist, Christopher Lucius Wynn, hailing from the vibrant city of Charleston, SC. With a diverse range of talents that span poetry, music, podcasting, theater performance, and modeling, Christopher is a true creative force making waves in his community and beyond.

Born and raised in Charleston on December 2nd, 1988, Christopher has embraced his artistic spirit and used his talents to connect with and inspire others. Known for his engaging performances at local open mic events, Christopher captivates audiences with his unique blend of poetry and music, showcasing his creativity and passion for storytelling.

A proud member of the "Plantation Singers," Christopher contributes to preserving the rich heritage of Gullah spirituals in the lowcountry, adding depth and soul to his artistic expressions. His journey in education includes graduating from North Charleston High School in 2007, Trident Technical College in 2011 with an Associate in Arts degree, and the College of Charleston in 2015 with a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre Arts, demonstrating his dedication to honing his craft and expanding his knowledge.

One of Christopher's notable accomplishments is the creation of "The Brothers in Company Podcast" with his older brother Derrick Wynn, providing a platform for engaging discussions, storytelling, and building connections within the community. As a fashion model for graphic artist and designer Rolf Anthony Young of ROLF Fashion, Christopher has helped elevate and mainstream the brand, showcasing his versatility and style in the fashion world.

In the summer of 2023, Christopher took on the role of creative director and choreographer for the "This is Happening" Poetry/Fashion show, merging his love for poetry and fashion in a dynamic and visually stunning production. This collaborative venture highlighted his vision, creativity, and ability to transcend artistic boundaries.

On August 21, 2023, Christopher achieved another milestone with the publication and release of his debut poetry book, "C.O.L.O.R.S.," now available on Amazon. Through his inspiring words and heartfelt poems, Christopher invites readers to embrace their dreams and ambitions, urging them to pursue their aspirations with unwavering determination and resilience.

LOS ANGELES Area, AUGUST 17TH, 2024 - The highly anticipated AAALAC- African American Authors Literacy Awareness Campaign is thrilled to announce the exciting comeback of the Original Chasing Your Dream Book Tour & Expo. Created by visionary Angela Thomas (Smith), this groundbreaking event has been an empowering and uplifting platform for authors of color for the past seven years.


Since its establishment in 2016, AAALAC has been dedicated to bringing attention to the incredible talent of Black and Brown authors across America and around the world, while simultaneously fighting against illiteracy on a global scale. Through the Chasing Your Dream Book Tour & Expo, which includes events like Dinner with an Author, Brunch & Books, and Poets in Da Park, AAALAC sets out to equip authors with the essential tools and knowledge to thrive as successful Authorpreneurs, going beyond the traditional roles of being mere vendors at events.


At each tour stop, attendees can expect a diverse range of enlightening break-out sessions featuring expert panelists in various fields. These sessions cover a wide range of topics including branding, networking, marketing, podcasting 101, and more. By attending these sessions, authors and small business owners will gain invaluable insights to take their authorship and businesses to new heights.
